Violence against women is a real problem, but there is also a long folk tradition of talking about "shooting your woman down." The blatant parody of "Hispanic" sounds was meant as a playful appropriation, an ironic witticism, to call attention to absurdity of violence against women, while at the same time interacting with a tradition that at times has glorified it.
